Hot New Bathroom Trends for the Summer

Although a bathroom’s interior design needs to be functional and efficient, the best designs are also relaxing and stylish. If your bathroom isn’t as attractive or comfortable as you’d like, consider these five new bathroom trends that could help you create a refreshing new look.

1. More complex bath and shower equipment

This year, bathrooms are no longer just bathrooms. They’re home spas! Upgrade your basic bathtub and install a whirlpool bath. Or, take out the bath altogether to design a spacious overhead shower.

2. Plant-covered walls

Yes, I’m talking about real plants covering your bathroom walls (also referred to as “living walls”). This trend is still quite new. If you’re hesitant to give it a try, you can always decorate the bathroom with potted plants instead.

3. Non-traditional bathroom accessories

You think a chandelier or a set of stylish home decor accessories doesn’t belong in the bathroom? Think again. This year, you can give your bathroom more personality and decorate it to fit in with the rest of your home’s interior design. No longer do you have to rely on colorful towels or that stylish soap container to create an attractive bathroom.

4. Copper accents

Decorating the bathroom in copper will warm up the overall look and create a bolder style. Even small accents such as copper fixtures and handles can make a big difference. If you want to really make a statement, switch out your white tub for a copper one.

5. Faux wood tiles

Hardwood in the bathroom? Well, not exactly. If you love the look of wooden floors, but don’t want to deal with water damage, use faux wood tiles instead. There are a variety of colors and stains available to match your taste and bathroom style.

Don’t you want a bathroom that can help you relax after a long day at work? What about a bathroom you are proud to show to guests? These five trends make it easy to design a space that is stylish, soothing and still functional.
